The transmission is weird at slow speeds. And kilometres per litre is a weird way to measure fuel economy. Any questions?

At least it’s a really nice red. How was Quiznos?

What percentage of the car even looks like it’s made of titanium?

I'm forever scarred by the Quiznos I went to in university, so no dice on that.

None. Since we live in the future, it looks like chrome instead.

my wife drives one, Ford replaced the clutch plates and it drives like “normal” now. Very nice car and very efficient, 37mpg highway on regular gas

I’m 5'11"-ish and I’m good on headspace (although my legs feel a smidge cramped).

Not really. I don’t like how shiny it is.

I’m getting about 38.5 mpg (or 16.4 kilometres per litre [seriously, what the dickens, Ford]), so I’m with you on the opinion. Would I buy one for myself? Ehh, probably not.

You can change how that fuel economy reads to a more normal liters per 100km.

One day I’ll figure out how. Or I can continue to guesstimate that it’s good on gas (hint: it is).

N
ever mind, the manual’s fine. Don’t bother with the automatic unless you’re disabled.

It’s a rental, so manual wasn’t exactly an option.

Hit left on the D pad on the steering wheel, scroll to “Settings”, then it’s under there somewhere (fuel economy? settings? ).

I tried fiddling with it a bit yesterday, but didn’t quite have the time. Maybe today at some point I’ll figure it out.

You can’t hire manuals over there?
Anyways, I hired an automatic Focus (2 litre diesel, twin clutch box) back in 2005 and I thought it was fine, although I was a little surprised how like a conventional automatic it felt with slowish, slushy gearchanges. I had a DSG Golf in Germany last month and it was much better, with almost instantaneous changes.

What don’t you like about it? The only nit pick as far as I’m concerned is the lack of backseat room, it’s cramped. I a ls o have a Cayman and a Tacoma, so we have different vehicles we can use depending on the day.

Just feels very insulated. It's a car to go from A to B with great fuel mileage and storage capacity, but as a whole, it's just a car. I just drove a Fiesta ST, and it was a load of fun.

No manuals for rent in Canada that I’ve ever seen

None? I supp
ose they couldn’t take the risk in a place where people take
their tests in automatics (people very rarely do that here because they then get a restricted, automatic-only licence)
.
